Boiler mill maintenance is a core part of ZTE’s engineering capability.
Our experience includes working with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) on power station mills, supported today by our relationship with PSS Germany. This combines practical maintenance knowledge with access to OEM specifications through our licensed scope.
Our capabilities cover planned maintenance, outage support, internal component replacement, refurbishment, mill rebuilds and critical spares manufacturing.

Kusile Unit 2, Mill 50: Complex Mill Recovery
ZTE’s project experience includes the K2 Mill 50 recovery and rebuild at Kusile Power Station.
The project brings together the demands of mill restoration: coordinating engineering requirements, replacement components, workshop support and site execution through successive stages of the rebuild.
It reflects our ability to contribute to technically demanding work where planning, inspection and the correct assembly of components matter.

Critical Mill Spares for Kusile and Medupi
As a PSS Germany licence holder for the relevant MPS265 vertical spindle mill scope at Kusile and Medupi, ZTE manufactures and supplies critical mill spares to applicable OEM requirements. Our capabilities include:

- Dam rings
- Pendulum joint shock absorber assemblies
- Other mill components and assemblies within our licensed scope
Our maintenance experience gives us a practical understanding of how these components fit, function and wear in service.
Workshop Capability That Supports the Whole Project

Our workshop capability supports both new manufacturing and the restoration of equipment already in service. Through CNC and conventional machining, fabrication, welding and mechanical refurbishment, we produce and repair components for demanding industrial applications. Our work includes:

Our field services include mechanical maintenance, on-site machining, equipment repairs, outage support and skilled labour supply. Electrical and control and instrumentation capabilities extend our offering to panel work, instrumentation support and system upgrades.
Fitters, boilermakers, welders, electricians and C&I technicians bring their respective skills together around the agreed project scope.
